One open-plan flat, mid-century bones, colour kept to the art and the textiles.
TheA well travelled client with a real collection to show off, books, art and pieces picked up on the move, wanted one open plan room pulled together properly. She loves bright colour but didn't want it shouting from every wall, so the ask was a muted, calm background that lets the good colour and the treasures do the talking. Keep the light and the easy flow through to the garden. A room that feels like her, collected over years, not decorated in an afternoon. We kept the shell calm and neutral so nothing competes with the good pieces, then let colour arrive where it earns its keep. A teal and purple rug anchors the seating, bold abstract canvases lift the walls, a navy band and a few orange cushions do the rest. Her books, art and travel finds stay on show, the point of the room rather than clutter to hide. Collected, characterful, restful even with plenty going on. Brave with colour, sensible with everything else.
